Recovery Cafe: Cappy's Studio

I have to skip my Communication 202 class in order to be there, so today was my first time photographing the glass house project for the Recovery Cafe. The cafe is a place in Seattle for homelessness and people recovering from drug addiction, ect. Eight people who have completed the 12 step recovery process have been chosen to participate in a project creating a glass house. This will provide a creative outlet for them and the glass house symbolizes outsiders looking in and the thin line btween mental illness and drug addiction. The whole process of this project will be photographed, made into a book and exhibited in July.

We went to Cappy Thompson's studio where she gave us a tour of some of her glass work. She talked about how dreams and mythology can be a source of inspiration, and the process and techniques of grissaille painting.
